Recently, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) made announcements respectively on relevant requirements on the implementation of new standard for the compulsory certification of household appliance including portable electromagnetic oven, washing machine, refrigerator, etc. These new certification standards involving 7 categories of products will be implemented from Feb. 1, Mar. 1, and Apr. 1, 2010 respectively, when products of each category shall meet the correspondent requirements of the new standard in order to go through production, sale, and import. Before the implementation of the new standards, applicants may choose at will to take certification under the new standards or the old ones; upon the implementation of the new standards, the certification organizations shall conduct certification and issue certificate under the new standards.
